There were many different artists who performed the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. However, as Straight No Chaser did, no one did. This happened on their tour of New Mexico. And their funny presentation is very hard to forget.

At the start of the music, the member explained to the audience the fact that the group would be performing their own choreography. However, the audience has no idea that it will be such a wonderful and funny moment.

Even if they are an a cappella group, they tried to be as unconventional as possible. They also explained their different thinking on their website.

“Straight No Chaser (SNC) is neither lacy nor straight-faced, but neither is it vaudeville kitsch.” As original member Randy Stein commented, “We take music way too seriously; we just don’t take ourselves too seriously.”

The thing is, these good guys are trying to modernize the idea of an a cappella singer. And I think they did. Not only do they have beautiful and unique voices, but their style is also unique.

The group formed while the members were attending Indiana University and have been capturing everyone’s hearts ever since.
