Matt Damon “Hit the Jackpot” When He Met a Single Mom to a 4-Year-Old in a Crowded Bar in Miami. Handsome, extremely successful, and very much grounded, Matt Damon is loved by many. Despite his celeb status, he lives quite a private life with wife Luciana Damon.

Since his first appearance on TV, Damon has won the hearts of millions. With multiple awards, including an Oscar for Best Screenplay for Good Will Hunting, Damon has been part of some big projects over the years. Some of the films he has starred in include Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Departure, Ocean’s Trilogy, The Martian. He is one of the highest grossing actors of all time.

Besides being a big name in Hollywood, Damon is also a family man and a devoted husband and father.

About 17 years ago, he met his wife and the love of his life. Their meeting was accidental.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, the actor said: “I’m very happy right now; I am very happy. I hit the jackpot with my wife.”

During the filming of Stuck on You in Miami, Damon was “dragged” to a bar by his friends. He was reluctant to leave but eventually agreed and it turned out to be the best decision of his life.

“We were supposed to shoot in Hawaii and then the film was moved to Miami.” I never really hung out in Miami, then one night in the middle of filming some guys said they were going to get a beer somewhere and I said ‘I’m not really interested’ but they dragged me and we ended up in a bar where my wife she was bartending and I literally saw her by myself in a room full of people,” he explained.

In a rare interview with Vogue magazine, Luciana also recalled when she and Matt Damon first met.

“But he started to recognize himself and asked for photos and autographs,” she began her story.

“And then it got a little aggressive because people were drinking and stuff, so he came and hid behind my bar… [wanting to] just sit there and have a drink.” He says “oh I saw you and I really wanted to talk to you”.

“That’s why I put him to work with me! I said, “You know, if you’re going to come back here, you can’t stay there!” He had trained as a movie bartender years ago, so he started making drinks. And he made me a ton of money in tips that night because of course everyone wanted to go see him. So it turned into a really fun night.”

They were married in 2005 in a private civil ceremony at the Marriage Bureau in Manhattan.
By the time they met, Luciana was already the mother of a daughter, Alexia, from a previous relationship. She and Damon have three daughters, Isabelle, Gia and Stella.

Although he is quite busy with filming, his family always comes first. Damon revealed that the longest he’s ever been away from his wife and daughter is three weeks, and they have this two-week rule where they try not to stay longer than that. In case the project takes more time, he takes the family with him.

“Every decision to make a film really depends on the family.” If it’s going to be too disruptive, I just can’t do it,” he said, according to the Daily Mail. “Sometimes it’s an adventure. Last year I went to China for six months and it was a big family trip and it was great.

He believes that he is not a hot topic for magazines because he is just a middle-aged married guy with four children. “So as long as that narrative doesn’t change much, there’s no appetite for it.” “If I’m not jumping up and down in a bar, or setting fire to something, or cheating on my wife, there’s no story to tell,” he told Esquire.
