A 22-year-old woman was found deɑd in her car after being trapped for 18 hours in a blizzard in Buffalo, New York – part of a deɑdly weather system that swept across much of the country over the weekend. Family members of Endella Taylor — who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina — conveyed that she was caught in the dɑngerous storm while driving home from work in Buffalo.

“I don’t know if any of us really knew how serious it was,” cousin Shonequa Brown told the station. “We didn’t see the news, we didn’t really know what was going on in Buffalo.”

Taylor said during a family group chat that blinding snow was piling up quickly — and also shared videos of the dire conditions.

Brown added to the station that Taylor explained to another relative that she was “scared.” Taylor called 911 and waited for an ambulance that was unable to reach him, according to New 24.

“I feel like everyone who tried to reach her was blocked. The fire department, the police, everybody got stuck,” Tomeshia Brown, another relative of Taylor’s, told the station. “Why didn’t they have tire chains? This is a state known for snow.”

VSOC said some questioned whether Taylor died of hypothermia — but Steele told the station he believed Taylor passed away of carbon monoxide pois0ning.

“The car was running and the snow was still falling, so it blocked the pipes, the exhaust pipe,” she noted to VSOC. “Then after the car cut off, that’s when it froze.”

The station said the tragedy occurred between Christmas and Taylor’s upcoming birthday.

“She was crying a lot, [still] getting presents under the tree,” Shonequa Brown told VSOC.
